Council organized Vigyan Utsav on a theme "Atmanirbharta and Industry" as a part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav on 22nd July, 2022 in collaboration with DST, GoI, New Delhi through online mode. Dr Aparna Sharma, Senior Scientific Officer, UCOST coordinated the session. In the inaugural address, Dr Debapriya Dutta, Advisor, SEED Division, DST, GoI, New Delhi emphasized on the need of Industry-academic collaboration and shed light on how they can create a wonderful platform for atma nirbhar bharat. Dr D.P. Uniyal, Joint Director, UCOST, Dehradun gave a welcome address, he told that the council has been organizing this program regularly since last year on the occasion of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav. Further, he also gave an overview of initiatives taken by the council in this direction. Shri Himanshu Goel, Scientist-B, Patent Information Center (PIC) delivered a lecture on "Role of Council in Atmanirbharta and Industry in the State of Uttarakhand ". Ray, Director, CSIR-IIP, Dehradun; Er Rakesh Oberoi, Former Chairman CII Dehradun; Dr Pankaj Gupta, President, Industries Association of Uttarakhand (IAU) Mohabewala Industrial Area, Dehradun shared their view on role of industry in in prospect of Atma Nirbhar Bharat. They also shed light on industry academia collaboration . Dr Romila Chandra,Scientific Officer, UCOST gave a vote of thanks to all the speakers and participants. Dr Rajendra  Dobhal, Director General, UCOST, Dehradun Delivered a inaugural address on ‘R&D infrastructure in the State'. He enlightened on the Agricultural, Herbal, Petroleum & other R&D institute/Organization/Universities in the Uttarakhand State. He told that IPR make an important role in the development of Nation.  In the Special Address, Dr N.K.Upreti, Scientist ‘G', Forest Research Institute, Dehradun told about the R&D initiatives taken by their institutes under the Aegis of ICFRE, Dehradun & MEOF, GoI, New Delhi.  Er. Kireet Kumar, Director, GB Pant National Institute of Himalayan Environment, Kosi Katarmal delivered a talk on ‘S&T Infrastructure for Sustainable Development in IHR'. He briefed about the project running at GBPNIHE in collaborations with the others S&T and R&D institutions in the state. He enlightened on the progress of GBPNIHE so far in the field of Himalayan Development.

He also told that Ecology, Economy and Society are the integral part of development. Dr Aparna Sharma, Sr. Scientific Officer, UCOST, Dehradun gave a brief presentation on ‘R&D Infrastructure and council Initiatives'. She highlighted various program and R&D progress so far by the council. Dr D.P.Uniyal delivered a vote of thanks to all the speakers and participants for attending the session. Uttarakhad State Council for Science and Technology (UCOST) & Valley of Words (VoW) Jointly Organized a one day Seminar on "History of Science in India " on 19th Nov, 2021 at Regional Science Centre (RSC), Vigyan Dham, Jahjra, Dehradun. In the the Inaugural session Dr Rajendra Dobhal, Director General, UCOST, Dehradun delivered a welcome address of the program. Dr Sanjeev Chopra, Historian, Policy Analyst & Festival Director of VoW delivered the address on Valley of Words. The Keynote lecture was given by Dr C M Nautiyal, Consultant, INSA, New Delhi. Sh. G S Rautela, Advisor Science City, Dehradun delivered a vote thanks to all the guest & participants present in the inaugural session. In the first technical session which was coordinated by Dr CM Nautiyal, Consultant INSA, New Delhi the first lecture was delivered by  Prof Mayank Vahia, Dean & Former Prof TIFR,Mumbai  on "Astronomy in Ancient India" and Prof Deepak Kumar, Former Prof Sc & History  JNU, New Delhi delivered a lecture on "History of Medicine". In the Second technical session Sh Dinesh C Sharma, Jawaharlal Nehru Fellow, New Delhi delivered his talk on "History of Information Technology" and Dr Alok Kumar Kanungo, Asst. Prof IIT, Gandhinagar Gave his lecture on

"History of S&T of Indian Glass". More than 250 Students from DBIT, Beehive Institute, JBIT, Alpine Institute, ICFAI University, GRD Girls Degree College and Uttaranchal University Dehradun attended the seminar.

On 26 November 2021 a NASI popular lecture was held at Vigyan Dham, Jhajhra, UCOST, Dehradun on the topic "Lesson to learn to post COVID situation in Indian Scenario" by Dr Sanjeev Misra, Director, AIIMS Jodhpur, which was organised by Uttarakhand State Council for Science and Technology (UCOST) and National Academy of Sciences (NASI, UK- Chapter).  Dr B. R. Arora (Former Director Wadia Institute of Himalayan Geology) delivered the Introductory Address. He introduces all the distinguished guests and talked about the scientific activities done by NASI-UK Chapter. Dr Rajendra Dobhal (Director General UCOST) delivered the welcome address and gave a detailed overview of scientific activities and events organised by UCOST and NASI UK-Chapter. Dr Sanjeev Misra talked on gap areas of the Indian Health Care System, Urban and Rural Discrepancy in Health care infrastructure and the importance of the right to health for every individual. He said that we need initiatives like Branded Clinics and operative models like Urbanization of Health Care Services. He said that it is an opportunity to boost our Domestic manufacturing in the Pharmaceutical and

Biotechnology sector which will boost our economy as well as Health Care Facilities. He also said we need to introduce Home Health Care Solutions as the elderly population in India is increasing. He introduces four start-ups mentored by AIIMS, Jodhpur and collaborative program in Medical Technology by IIT- AIIMS, Jodhpur (Rajasthan). He said that a strong health system is essential for achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Prof. A. N. Purohit said that the COVID-19 pandemic changed the doctor-patient relationship although health will always remain an individual responsibility. He talked about plant-based RNA Viruses and related research articles which can be helpful in curing in diseases related to viruses. Dr Dobhal talked about issues of medical emergency diseases and patenting of technology and processes related to them. A vote of thanks was delivered by Prof. A. N. Ministry of Science and Technology, Dept. of Science and Technology (DST), GoI, New Delhi in Collaboration with Uttarakhand State Council for Science and Technology (UCOST), Dehradun celebrated Vigyan Utsav as a part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav "STI Institutions in the States" through virtual mode on 9th Sept, 2021. This day is also celebrated as Himalaya Day. The program was started with a video of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav on 75th Year of Independence. Dr Dobhal said our state have 75 different S&T Institution which are working continuously after independence in different sectors. A Stakeholders User's Meet in E-Waste Project held at UCOST, Vigyan Dham on 31st Aug, 2021

A Stakeholders User's meeting of the project entitled ‘E-Waste Management in Dehradun and Rudraprayag – Realizing the E-Waste to Resource Potential' was held at Uttarakhand State Council for Science & Technology (UCOST) on 31st August 2021. In this meeting, various officials from different line departments were present and shared their views about E-Waste management. Dr Rajendra Dobhal (Director General, UCOST & PI, E-Waste Project) welcomed all the participants and shared the basic purpose behind initiating this project. Dr D. P. Uniyal, (Joint Director, UCOST and Co-PI, E-Waste Project) shared the work done by the E-Waste management unit and its objectives. Dr B. M. Sharma (Secretary SPECS and Co-PI, E-Waste Project) delivered a detailed presentation about the project activities and work done by various collection centers. During the meeting, Dr Shwetank (Assistant Professor, Gurukul Kangri University, Haridwar) and his team gave a detailed presentation of the Android-based E-Waste Application and he demonstrated the screen recording of the E-Waste

application, its features and process of registration, profile screen input & output and expected three types of the home screen for this upcoming E-Waste App. Various success stories of E- Waste were discussed during the meeting. During the meeting, the representatives of all the line departments shared their views about the E-Waste management practices conducted in their respective departments. During the meeting Dr Anjan Ray, Director IIP, Dehradun Chaired the open discussion session and he said that people should be encouraged to register and sharing E-Waste Applications. He said that awareness campaigns should be conducted and E-waste should be categorized according to its value. Dr Manmohan Rawat (Scientific Officer), UCOST delivered the vote of thanks. Shri S. S. Padma Vibhushan Shri Sundarlal Bahuguna ji for his extra ordinary contribution for himalayan environment. He also told that Shri Bahuguna inaugurated our biodiversity park in 2018 which is situated at Vigyan Dham Jhajra. S.Rawat delivered a keynote lecture on "Science, Policy and Practice of Biodiversity Conservation in the Context of Uttarakhand: Introspection and Prospection. In his keynote lecture, he focus on the various issues on Himalayan Environment, Ecosystem, floua & fauna of Uttaakhand, CBD, Biodiversity Science, Policies and International Agenda etc.

Dr Samir Sinha, IFS,Additional PCCF, Govt. of Uttarakhand was the Keynote speaker of the program. The program was started with a video of Late. Padmavibhushan Sundarlal Bahuguna ji based on his poem, composed and sang by Mr Upendra Arora & Mrs Sneha Arora. Dr Rajendra dobhal, FNASc, Director General, UCOST, welcome the chief guest and all the participants who had joined online. Dr Dobhal said about the Economic Leadership Vs human population. He said that we need the young hands for our economic growth. In a special address, Padmashree, Prof. A.N. Purohit told about the importance of "Paryavaran k sath Vatavaran". He also gave some examples related to environment based on his own written book. Dr Samir Sinha delivered a keynote lecture on "Nurturing Mother Earth: A Call to Prevent, Halt and Reverse the Degradation of Ecosystem". In his keynote lecture, he focus on the various issues on Economic Restoration, Chipko Movement, Ecosystem Integrity, Restoration culture, eradication of Lantana grass, ecological recovery wheel etc. He said that we should adopt a long scientific approach on ecosystem restoration. Restoration adopts a holistic approach & focused on all elements of an ecosystem.

CORDYCEPS MILITARIS MEDICINAL MUSHROOM DEMONSTRATION UNIT INAUGURATION PROGRAM on 20th April, 2021 at UCOST, Dehradun

CORDYCEPS MILITARIS MEDICINAL MUSHROOM DEMONSTRATION – The demonstration unit of Cordyceps militaris (One of the unique and highly medicinal mushrooms) is successfully established under Technology Resource Centre (TRC) program at UCOST, Dehradun by Krishivan Research Centre for Agripreneurship Development & Environment Protection Samiti (KRCADEPS) with Help of Technical partner Visheswar Agro Products (VAP). During Inauguration of the demonstration unit in UCOST premises, with presence of Director General Dr. Rajendra Dobhal, he has said that this mushroom will provide medicinal benefits, for wellness & well being for mankind. Generally, Cordyceps militaris constitutes various bioactive compounds like cordycepin, cordymin, ergosterol, glycoprotein and various polysaccharides which work as immunity boosters and can be used in various disease of liver, kidney, infertility problems can be cured and healed. Jitendra, Dr B.P Purohit & council staff were also present in the inauguration program with the Expert and team members of Krishivan Research Centre (KRCADEPS), Pramod kr. "Connecting the Ocean, Climate and Weather" message on World Meteorological Day 2021:-

The World Meteorological Day 2021 on the theme "The Ocean, Our Climate and Weather" was celebrated at UCOST, Vigyan Dham, Jhajra, Dehradun in semi virtual mode on 23rd March, 2021. The theme has been chosen by WMO to reflect the organization's focus on "connecting the ocean, climate and weather within the Earth System." The World Meteorological Organisation, WMO was established in 1950 on March 23. Since its inception, the day has been observed as World Meteorological Day. WMO, an intergovernmental organization has a membership of 193 Member States and Territories. Chief Guest of the program was Dr K.S. Misra, Executive Director, NUREMCO & Former Distinguished Professor, UPES, Dehradun. Director General UCOST, Dr Rajendra Dobhal welcomed the Chief Guest and all the participants attending through offline and online modes. He told that Dr Misra is a well known geologist in the country. Dr Dobhal said that now we can plan our day-to- day activities as per the weather forecast conditions, this could happen just because of recent development in the area of meteorology. In his keynote lecture on "The Ocean, Our Climate and Weather", Dr Misra said that the day highlights the

importance of the behavior of Earth's atmosphere. Nowadays we are fully dependent on weather forecasting. Radar signaling is very important in weather forecasting. With advancement of technology now, it's easy to predict accurate weather forecast. He talked about jet streams, western disturbances and science behind polar vortex. He also said that with the help of snow cover mapping and variability study we can find out the amount of accumulation of total snow in a particular year and can predict the availability of water in rivers originating from those snow mountains. He also enlightened on water channels of India. He also talked about ground penetrating radar and its application in finding underground water streams. He highlighted the feature of Cyclone and Anti-Cyclone in prospect of equator on the earth. He said that according to scientists and researchers we can control climate upto 2% by a proper planning & forestation, this is in our hand. The meeting ended with vote of thanks to the chair by Dr. D.P.Uniyal, Joint Director. Dr Aparna Sharma, Sr. Scientific Officer coordinated the program. "Valuing Water" message on World Water Day 2021

World Water Day 2021 on the theme "Valuing Water" was celebrated at UCOST, Vigyan Dham, Jhajra, Dehradun in semi virtual mode. According to the United Nations, "The value of water is about much more than its price." This day was celebrated keeping in line with Sustainable Development Goal #6 which is aimed at achieving water and sanitation by all for 2030. Chief Guest of the program was Dr Prakash Chauhan, Director, Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS), Dehradun. Director General UCOST, Dr Rajendra Dobhal welcomed the Chief Guest and all the participants attending through offline and online modes. He said that the percentage of drinking water was always same but due to drastic increase in population, the problem of water scarcity is being faced across the globe. We have to manage & conserve the water resources on the planet. In his keynote lecture on "Valuing the Water on Water Planet", Dr Chauhan said that drinking water on Earth existed in three forms i.e. water, ice & vapor. Many cities in the world are in day zero water condition. The surface water is sufficient for us, but proper management is required. He highlighted the role played by microscopic phytoplankton in maintaining Earth's temperature and said that without these planktons,

within 4 days the temperature of Earth would rise by 4-50C. He also said that without any modern scientific techniques, our ancestors intelligently designated three important pilgrimage sites on neighboring glaciers, viz., Kedarnath on Chorabari glacier, Badrinath on Satopanth glacier and Gangotri on Gangotri Glacier, thus valuing water. He said that Gujarat, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh have done good work in water conservation through watershed development programs since 1997 and crop production in these areas has increased in recent years. He laid stress on reduction of water wastage and educating students and people about the significance of every single drop of water. World Wildlife Day-2021was celebrated in Uttarakhand Council for Science & Technology on 3rd March, 2021 in joint collaboration with UCOST & NASI UK chapter. The theme for this year is "Forest (WL) & Livelihood: Sustaining People & Planet". The program was attended by chief guest Sh Kunal Satyarthi, IFS, Principal, Central Academy for State Forest Service (CASFOS), Dehradun; Dr Rajendra Dobhal, Director General, UCOST; Sh. G.S. Rautela, Advisor Science City, Dehradun and Dr D.P.Uniyal, Joint Director, UCOST. Dr Aparna, Sr. Scientific Officer, UCOST briefed the participants about the program. Dr Dobhal welcomed all the guest and participants. He said that this year's theme ‘Forest and Livelihood: Sustaining People and Planet' perfectly matched in context with Uttarakhand state. He also focused on human wild life conflict across the world. The Chief Guest of the program, Sh Kunal Satyarthi delivered a keynote lecture on "Forest (WL) & Livelihood: Sustaining People & Planet". He said that forest bank is the only bank in the world which always gives, but never takes back anything. Quoting beautiful lines said by Albert Einstein, he said, "If Bees go extinct from the surface of the Earth, man would have no more than three years left to live". Mr Satyarthi said

that Nature had blessed our country with abundant biodiversity- 200 forest types and very high degree of endemism in reptile and amphibian species. However, it is distressing to know that due to uncontrolled anthropogenic activities, species are becoming extinct at an alarming rate of about 150 species per day. Stressing upon the significance of Access and Benefit Sharing (ABS) provision of Biodiversity Act 2002, he said that biodiversity conservation efforts would be successful only by community involvement and ensuring that the last man in any random village gets its benefits. He urged the audience to make a pledge of minimizing use of polythene as the most meaningful takeaway of celebrating World Wildlife Day. Students asked their queries to the keynote speakers. Launch of DBT Skill Vigyan Program was held on 25th Feb, 2021 along with the Celebration of National Science Day-2021 in joint collaboration of UCOST, DBT & NASI UK chapter. Dr Aparna Sharma, Sr. Scientific Officer, UCOST & Coordinator of the program gave a welcome address & briefed about the program. Dr Rajendra Dobhal, Director General, UCOST welcomed all the guest and participants. He told that UCOST has started the DBT Skill vigyan Program with 5 partner's institutes named: AIIMS, Rishikesh; H.N.B. Garhwal University; Srinagar; Kumaun University, Nainital, G.B. Pant National Institute of Himayan Environment, Kosi Katarmal, Almora and G.B. Pant University of Agriculture & Technology, Pantanagar. He said that main focus of STI policy 2020 is on effective use of Science and Technology for Innovation. He also told that Skill, Innovation and Startup supplement each other, so Innovation Ecosystem has to be developed. Prof D.K. Maheshwari, Former Vice Chancellor, Gurukul Kangri University, Haridwar congratulated UCOST for DBT Skill Vigyan Program launch. Mr Ashok Windlas, CMD, Windalas Biotech Pvt. Ltd. said that student should take deep subject knowledge for expertise in any field.

Dr Manoj Rohila, Coordinator, DBT Skill Vigyan Progam, DBT, Govt. of India, New Delhi joined the program virtually and briefed about the project and its implementation. He told the audience since 1987 this day is being celebrated across India. The first policy of Science & Technology was developed in 1958 and 2013, now in 2020 draft of Science Technology & Innovation (STI) policy has been released, which main focus is on science communication and its policy implementation. He also told about the DBT launch program. He said that our skills can be developed by skill development trainings, on the basis, this DBT Skill program was designed. Hands on Training Programme on Apiculture and Food Processing Technology

Two days training programme was organized at UCOST on dated 19th and 20th February 2021. Participants from all four clusters Bazira (Rudraprayag), Bhigun (Tehri), Kausani (Bageshwar) and Gaindikhata (Haridwar) were present during the training. The programme was inaugurated in the gracious presence of Dr D P Uniyal, Joint Director, UCOST, Dr B P Purohit, Dr Prashant Singh, District Coordinator, UCOST, Dr Piyush Joshi, Senior Scientific Officer and subject experts from Shikhar Food Products, Mothrowala, Dehradun, Society for Economic & Social Studies, Sahaspur, Dehradun &Krishivan Research Centre for Agripreneurship Development & Environment Protection Samiti, Dehradun. During the training, participants knew about the making process of Jam-Mix Fruit Jam, Juices- Orange/Malta,Bunransh, Squashes, Pickle- Mix, Mango, Lemon, Garlic, Ginger etc. They also knew about the preservation technology of these food products, Packaging methods, Marketing strategies etc. In Apiculture training programme participants were trained how to cultivate honey bees, Bee boxes management, honey extraction techniques etc. Project staff Mr. Santosh Rawat, Mr. Devendra Singh, Mr. Paras Upadhyay along with UCOST staff were present on the occasion. The training was ended with the distribution of certificates to the participants.

Hands on activity on Nursery bed and compost preparation, Grafting techniques, Ringal product making including Dustbin, Fruit Basket, Lampshade etc. covered during the session. A field visit to a national award winning nursery -Nirmal Nursery,Dharmawala, Sahaspur was also conducted. Manager and owner of the nursery Mr. Nirmaltomar described about the nurseries techniques, important horticultural and medicinal plants in net house and polyhouse, Disease management in nurseries, Control of pest and Diseases and safety precautions etc. The training was ended with the distribution of certificates to the participants.

Celebration of National Girl Child's Day 2021 at UCOST, Dehradun

India celebrates National Girl Child day each year on January 24. The day is an initiative of the Ministry of Women and Child Development, Govt. of India and focuses on the need to address the challenges that girls face in Indian society due to gender biases. The purpose of the day is also to change the attitude of society towards girls. National Girl Child day 2021 is being celebrated across the country with the objective of raising awareness on the issue of declining Child Sex Ratio (CSR). The celebrations will also mark the anniversary of Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao (BBBP) scheme. Due to Holiday on 24th Jan, The Council Celebrated National Girl Child's Day 2021 on 25th Jan, 2021 at UCOST, Vigyan Dham, Jhajra through a Webinar. The Chief Guest of the webinar was eminent scientist & former secretary, Deptt. Of Biotechnology, Govt. of India, Padma Bhushan, Dr Manju Sharma. Dr Rajendra Dobhal, Director General, UCOST, Dehradun was the special guest on the occasion. In the opening remark, Dr Aparna Sharma, Sr. Scientific Officer, UCOST, Dehradun & Coordinator of the Program welcomed the dignitaries and all participants. The theme of the event was highlighted through a small video clip of conversation between

the then Prime Minister of India and astronaut Kalpana Chawla in space onboard Columbia. Speaking about the development of Covaxin and Covishield vaccines, in the current COVID-19 scenario, Dr. Dobhal emphasized that these achievements were made possible by establishment of 9 prominent research institutions including National Institute of Immunology, Delhi. Dr. Manju Sharma emphasized various significant issues pertaining to educating and inspiring girls to take up STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) for building career as scientists, scientific administrators and entrepreneurs by citing various prominent figures like Prof. MGK Menon, Dr. M.S. Swaminathan, Dr. Priya Abrahim (Director, National Institute of Virology)and Dr. Kiran Majumdar Shaw. She highly appreciated and congratulated UCOST for the efforts in involving more than 500 women participants from schools, colleges and universities under activities of NASI- Dehradun Chapter. Detailed information on various types of programs for women with break-in-service and other fellowships was also shared with the participants. Dr. D.P. Hands on Training programme on Mushroom Cultivation and Value Addition at UCOST, Dehradun

Under Pt Deen Dayal Upadhyay Vigyan Gram Sankul Pariyojana, 5 days hands on training programme on mushroom cultivation and value addition was organized at UCOST, Dehradun from dated 22nd to 26th January 2021. The programme was inaugurated in the gracious presence of Dr Mahesh Sharma, Chancellor, Mahatma Gandhi Central University and chairman of the project. Participants from four clusters Bazira (Rudraprayag), Bhigun (Tehri), Kausani (Bageshwar), Gaindikhata (Haridwar) along with new proposed clusters ShakumbariShivalik (Saharanpur),HenwalGhati (Tehri) and Dwarhat (Almora) were present during the training. Subject experts from Krishivan Research Centre for Agripreneurship Development & Environment Protection Samiti, Dehradun briefed about the mushroom cultivation techniques-Button and Oyster mushroom, cultivation of medicinal mushroom-Ganoderma, Mushroom benefit and marketing, Value addition & Packaging etc. Hands on activities were also done by the participants at field site. An exposure visit to Visheswar Agro Products, Kedarpur, Dehradun was also conducted. During visit participants knew about mushroom spawn lab and medicinal mushroom cultivation-Cordycepsmiliteristechniques. The training was ended with the distribution of certificates to the participants.

Artificial Intelligence based Demonstartion at RSC,UCOST, Dehradun

"BDS Education, Rajpur Road, Dehradun gave a demo class of Artificial Intelligence, Robotics & Other digital Devices at Innovation Hub, RSC, Dehradun on 15th Jan, 2021. Col. Dimri, Col. Gupta & his team briefed about the the programming techniques used behind AI. He also told that coding will be very important in near future. Dr Rajendra Dobhal, Director General, UCOST advised him to develop the fun based mathematics activities to inculcate interest among School Children. He also emphasized on green jobs in hilly area of Uttarakhand state to combat Covid-19 crises. Sh. G S Rautela, Advisor, Science City Dehradun told that science centre is planning to showcase various exhibits on futuristic technologies such as AI, Robotics, Deep Learning etc. This will also be thrust area of training's and learning in summer camps at RSC Dehradun. All the staff of UCOST & RSC were present during the demonstration program."

"Council organized a four day webinar series (from 08-11th Sept-2020) entitled 'Intellectual Property Rights: Fundamental and its importance in present context� in joint collaboration with Technology Information, Forecasting and Assessment Council (TIFAC), Government of India and National Academy of Sciences India (NASI) Uttarakhand Chapter. Dr Rajendra Dobhal, Director General, UCOST narrated about the programs and highlighted the priority areas of the state for Science Technology and Innovation Policy-2020. In his address, Dr Yashwant Dev Panwar, Director, PFC, TIFAC gave detailed information on the innovation and technology transfer in India and its technical aspect under current period of covid-19. The distinguished guest Mr R. Saha gave his address on the topic 'Relevant economic, technical and educational importance of IPR�. On the second, third and fourth day, various eminent experts of IPR field, Dr. Sangeeta Nagar, Scientist-F, TIFAC; Prof T. Ramakrishnan, NLSIU Bengaluru; Dr Gargi Chakrabarti, NLU Jodhpur; Ms. Poonam Raghuvanshi, Vice President and Head Human Relations Dr. Reddy�s Laboratories, Gurgaon and Dr T.C. James were the key resource persons of the program. Dr Dobhal delivered vote of thanks to all the guests, lead speakers and participants in the valedictory season on fourth day. Program was convened by Dr Rajendra Dobhal in which several issues like physical, mental, economical stress due to covid-19 were discussed. Experts suggested that we should spend more time on our hobbies, virtual visit of museum, science parks & planetariums, and Innovative activities to mitigate the stress due to Covid-19 lockdown. Dr Vijay Dhashmana, the Vice Chancellor of Swami Rama Himalayan University and Prof Naveen K. Navani, IIT Roorkee also shared their views on the occasion.

Rautela, Former DG, NCSM & Advisor, Science City explain beautifully the whole live session. Shri Ravinath Raman, Commissioner, Garhwal Region of Uttarakhand was also present to witness the historical event with his family and appreciated the efforts of UCOST & Regional Science Centre Dehradun to showcase the entire event by different telescopic & Pin hole methods. This solar eclipse is historic in nature because it is first in this century. The live steaming of the entire session was conducted at council's official Facebook Page.

14th Uttarakhand State Science & Technology Congress (USSTC)- 2020

Council organized its flagship event USSTC in its premises Vigyan Dham, Dehradun during 27-29th February, 2020. USSTC provides a platform for the researchers of the state to discuss their research findings amongst renowned scientists and subject experts vis-à-vis learning opportunities. It also scouts excellence in R&D, promote interest and provide support for S&T within the state. This year, more than 800 renowned Scientists, Academician, Researchers and Intellects assembled in the premises of Vigyan Dham. The 14th USSTC was inaugurated by Prof Ashok Misra, NASI Distinguished Professor, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore; Dr S.S. Negi, Vice Chairman, Uttarakhand Rural Development and Migration Commission; Shri R.K. Sudhanshu, Secretary, Information, Science and Technology, Govt of Uttarakhand; Prof Mukesh Tripathi, Director, AIIMS, Vijaywara, Andhra Pradesh; Dr Prakash Chauhan, Director, IIRS, Dehradun; Dr R.S. Rawal, Director, GBPNIHESD, Almora; and Dr Rajendra Dobhal, DG, UCOST.
