This programme is designed to create awareness of intellectual property for school teachers by making them expose to the IP in everyday world and making them realize IP is everywhere. The webinar will be collaborated with CIPAM and is designed to train the teachers who in turn can train the school children to think about IP and realize IP in their children’s creations. Eminent experts, in Intellectual Property Mr. Shubham Istrewal, Assistant Manager, CIPAM, and Ms. Shabnam Khan, a Senior Partner with RNA Technologies and IP Attorneys have conducted the webinar. Mr. Shubham is a legal professional and works as an Assistant Manager with the CIPAM’s Enforcement team. Ms. Shabnam is a Senior Partner with the law firm RNA Technology & IP and has over 15 years of work experience as an Intellectual Property lawyer. This webinar covered the basics of Intellectual Property Rights in Patents, Copyright, Trademark, Designs and GI by extensive examples, numerous videos and interactive games. Both the speakers elaborately explained what is IP, it’s importance and how counterfeiting products or infringement of IP effects the trade and innovators. No of Participants Registered: 260 while the live audience was approximately 100 teachers.

Patent Information Center of GUJCOST in collaboration with CIPAM organized a Webinar for School Children from standard 6th to 12th on “Understanding Intellectual Property”, on 8th June 2020 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm. Eminent experts, in Intellectual Property Ms. Simran Sachdeva, Assistant Manager, CIPAM, and Ms. Rachna Bakhru, a Partner with RNA, Technology and IP Attorney have conducted the webinar. Ms. Simran is a communications professional and works as an Assistant Manager with CIPAM’s awareness team. She has been associated with CIPAM since 2018 and has undertaken multiple initiatives for the spread of IPR awareness amongst school students and conducted regular training programmes for teachers. Ms. Rachna is a Partner with the law firm RNA Technology & IP and currently leads the Dispute Resolution team of the firm, heavily involved in IP enforcement work including civil and criminal litigation. This webinar covered the basics of Intellectual Property Rights in Patents, Copyright, Trademark, Designs and GI by extensive examples, numerous videos and interactive games. Both the speakers elaborately explained what is IP, it’s importance and how counterfeiting products or infringement of IP effects the trade and innovators. The result of Gujarat Board 12th Science has been declared on 17th of May 2020. The students and parents are passing through turmoil to select right career path in midst of COVID19 pandemic. To help and properly guide the students, Gujarat Council on Science and Technology (GUJCOST), Dept of Science and Technology, Govt of Gujarat organized a webinar on career counseling in science, engineering and medicine disciplines on 30th May 2020. The webinar was designed considering a broad spectrum of career opportunities for the students who have passed 12th science subject, viz. Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. The webinar session was of two hour’s duration from 10.00 to 12.00 am on 30th May 2020. The eminent personalities including, Prof. Bhaskar Datta, Associate Professor Biological engineering, IIT-Gandhinagar; Dr. Parul Patel, Head, RRCD & Coordinator RESPOND, Space Applications Centre of ISRO, and Dr.Zarna Dhamecha, Medical Officer, Specialized Newborn Care Unit (SNCU), Civil Hospital Rajkot were invited as expert members to discuss about opportunities in Science, Engineering & Technology, Medical & Healthcare sector. About 440 students registered for the webinars and actively participated in the session and also interacted with the expert faculties

GUJCOST in association with Saurashtra University, Rajkot organized a webinar series titled as, "?????? ??????" Bhautik Yatra during 21st May to 29th May 2020 for the students(UG and PG), Research scholars, Faculties, Researchers and any physics enthusiast all across the country. The webinar series was started with an inspiring inaugural session by Padma Shri Prof. H. C. Verma, Rtd Professor, IIT Kanpur on 21st May 2020. The other all the speakers are well-known in their fields and from the national research institutes of the country such as BARC, UGC_CSR, IISER, IITs etc. About 1600 students and faculties from all across the country are participating in this programme on daily basis during the above period
GUJCOST in association with Regional Community Science Centre, Rajkot has organised a webinar session on Fun with Science on 27th May 2020 at 5.00 pm onwards. The session is basically planned to provide hands-on demonstration and minds-on simulation for secondary and higher secondary students on STEM disciplines. As the students are stocked at home and having no access to school lab and science club activities, this webinar will provide few interesting and exciting science experiments and demonstrations which they can follow and practiced at home. It was an engaging and enriching experience for them to think about science and to utilize their leisure time in meaningful manner.

GUJCOST has filed a Design Application for a foot pedal operated hand sanitizer. The simple instrument has been designed by GUJCOST and now being placed in every Departments in the Secretariat office in Gandhinagar. One can place the sanitizer bottle in the square plate provided, fix the handle height to the pout. That’s all. Once sanitizer bottle in place, a press on foot pedal will release small amount of sanitizer liquid into your hands, which is sufficient for hand-sanitization in a proper manner. GUJCOST is encouraging the local fabricators to scale-up the production for larger public use.
